Dues Letter-- see list on Dues Form below

Sarasota Area, FL Alumnae Chapter of Delta Delta Delta - August, 2022- 2023

Sister Deltas,
The Sarasota Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Delta Delta is beginning a new year - the
Tri Delta fiscal year is August 1 to July 31. Vice President Joan Kayser and the
executive committee are planning a busy calendar year with luncheons, evening
gatherings and special events.
Along with the beginning of another year comes a request to pay dues! Attached is the
dues statement. Executive Office increased the amount per fraternity member to
$24.00, so in order to keep $16.00 per member for our alumnae chapter the executive
committee voted to increase dues to $40.00.
Life Loyal members are those that made a generous lifetime contribution to Tri Delta in
the past and are, therefore, exempt from paying annual fraternity dues to executive
office. The dues for a Life Loyal member are $16.00.
If you live in the Sarasota area and have never been a member of the Sarasota
Alumnae Chapter we invite you to take advantage of a 1 year membership for $25.00.
Please send your dues to Treasurer Lowie Brannan, 3722 Bonaventure Ct, Sarasota, FL
34243 and note any changes you may have for the chapter directory. A new directory
will be published in September.
Loyally,

Retta Meser
President

New Chapter Officers; Thanks to outgoing President, Cindy Jeffers

2019 - 2022  Sisters:

We got through the Pandemic with the wonderful communications from our own Cindy Jeffers who became President of the SarasotaArea.tridelta.org Alumni-chapter in 2019.  She not only sent detailed newsletters, she worked with the Board to set up numerous outings, lunches, video chats and meetings to keep our Chapter going.

Ta da -- The new Board members are

President -- Retta Messer

Vice President -- Joan Kayser

Corresponding Secretary -- Anne Walker

Recording Secretary -- Linda Cape

Cindy and chapter extended a Big Thanks to outgoing Board Members who have served for a number of years. Marjorie Anderson, Jeanne Madden, Marion Fricke all supported the chapter with lots of Delta Love and enthusiasm.

As Cindy J and husband Mike said in farewell, "Hasta La Vista, Sisters!"

Cindy also added, "I enjoyed every Presidential moment.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart."  We'll be seeing you all....

What's New in 2019-2020Sarasota-- Tridelts Open 2019/2020 Season.
Our speakers were our very own DDD Sisters.  Elizabeth DiMartino and her boss Tom spoke on The Literacy Council of Sarasota.  They related very alarming statistics along with some good news: 1 in 5 Sarasota adults lack basic literacy or English communication skills.  But through The Literacy Council volunteers, 625 adult learners are helped annually by over 625 pro-literacy volunteer tutors and instructors.  Jodie Zerega and her best friend Jane Watt co-founded the Sarasota chapter of Impact 100 SRQ in 2018.  This Sunday 11/3, their chapter of 228 women will distribute  grants of $114,000 to 2 different local non-profits.  Congrats to both organizations!!  We are proud of you, Elizabeth and Jodie!!
Outgoing President, Jan Hollister also passed the gavel to incoming President, Cindy Jeffers. (See Photo)

(Previous) Changes are afoot in Sarasota's Alumnae Chapter.  Our nominating committee is looking to fill the large shoes of Jan Hollister who has served for two terms since 2016.

-- Our new President is Cindy Jeffers, who lives in Venice ,Fl. year round.  She welcomes everyone to the exciting season of sisterhood in 2020.  Jeffers advised that there are many new programs and delicious lunches ahead and thanked VP Marjorie Anderson for setting up the programs.  She hopes everyone will attend the monthly meetings and take advantage of other activities such ad book club, social bridge and park parties.

"We will continue to support Tri Delta by following our Mission Statement and newest motto Kind Alike to All," Says Cindy.

Congrats to the latest panel of Officers, President, Cindy Jeffers, Vice President, Marjorie Anderson, Recording Secretary, Marian Fricke, Corr. Secretary, Jeanne Madden and Treasurer, Retta Meser.

We had an eventful year ....more to come

FARFLUNG SISTERS

(see photo- Laurie Peters Althen and Barbara O'Connor-photo albums 2018)

Sept. 2018  -- It's a small world.  Laurie Halladay's pledge sister Laurie Peters Althen, Delta Xi (Missouri), lives in Denver. Laurie said, "I had hoped she would connect with Barbara O’Connor, one of our own Deltas from Sarasota, FL." Barbara moved to Denver after 2018 season to be with family.

Laurie sent an email (to Ms. Peters) and advised that Barbara was going to attend the Denver DDD Alumnae dinner with speaker, Tori Campbell, President of Foundation. I knew one of our other Sisters, Chrys Hyde, had helped Barbara connect so I assumed Barbara might attend," said Laurie.
So, she said that she sent Barbara’s photo to Laurie Peters and asked her to keep an eye out for Barbara.  Alas, a photo of Barbara and Laurie P. showed up.  "Two of my favorite DDDs connected in Denver, and they both look great".

"We all miss Barbara, but at least she has another Laurie DDD sister".

Cheers to farflung sisters in the coming new season of 2018-2019.
